MIKE GONZALEZ SCORES HUGE KO IN PEORIA

Boxing Media Release - 9/5/2006

Undefeated lightweight prospect Mike Gonzalez thrilled the packed house at the PAR A DICE Hotel and Casino in East Peoria, IL this past Friday night, September 1st with a stunning second round knockout of Donnell Logan.

Gonzalez win was part of an evening of world class professional boxing presented by Dominic Pesoli's 8 Count Productions and Brian Young's Prize Fight.

Gonzalez has now won all of his eight professional bouts by knockouts. The evening also included big wins by 2004 US Olympic alternates Anthony and Lamont Peterson.

Said Gonzalez after the win over Logan, "We spent the first round sort of feeling each other out, in the second I saw an opening when he didn't pull back his jab quick enough and I shot my right uppercut. Typically, I'm not a one punch KO fighter but this was a solid shot and it hurt him badly."

About his future Gonzalez added, "I'd like to fight as much as possible. Keep fighting, keep challenging myself."

Said Pesoli, "Mike looked great on Friday night and the fans in Peoria loved his KO. He's a pleasure to work with, always fully prepared to fight at a high level. I'm looking forward to continuing to challenge him as he moves up in the rankings and I should be able to announce his next bout in the near future."

The full fight card results from this past Friday night are;

Mike Gonzalez KO2 Donnell Logan

Lamont Peterson TKO7 Omar Bernal

Anthony Peterson UD6 Armando Cordoba

Hassan Wasswa UD5 Miguel Angel Figueroa

Brooke Dierdorff TKO2 Geboria Mayfield
